Meet Rajiv Surendra, the charming actor who stole hearts as Kevin G in Mean Girls! But wait, there’s more! When he’s not busy being the coolest mathlete on-screen, he’s diving into the colorful world of watercolor painting.

Rajiv is all about blending creativity with life’s adventures. Picture him biking through the vibrant streets of New York City, soaking in the history around him while dreaming up his next masterpiece. He’s not just an artist; he’s a storyteller, sharing his journey of self-discovery and the magic that happens when you dare to chase the impossible.

With a sprinkle of humor and a dash of inspiration, Rajiv shows us that hard work and a little bit of imagination can turn dreams into reality. So, whether he’s painting a sunset or reminiscing about high school drama, you can bet he’s doing it with style and a smile.

What's your favorite part of creating?

My favorite part of the creative process is achieving something that once felt impossible. There’s a unique thrill in setting a goal that seems out of reach and then dedicating yourself to making it a reality. When I first encountered the watercolors my teacher painted, I thought, “I could never do that.” That initial self-doubt can be daunting. Yet, seeing what I can accomplish now, after much hard work and practice, is incredibly fulfilling.

How has New York inspired you?

New York is a vibrant, modern city rich with history. As you stroll through its streets, you can see remnants of the 19th century and feel the cobblestones beneath your feet. This blend of past and present inspires me to slow down and appreciate the city’s historical layers. While I often felt out of place in my childhood, I now find that living in New York allows me to embrace its old-world charm—like the intricate cornices on pre-war buildings—while carving out a space that feels uniquely mine.

How do you like to do your shopping?

I believe shopping should be a joyful experience from start to finish. I enjoy leaving my apartment, biking to a store, and immersing myself in the process. When I find something I love, taking it home on my bike makes the experience even more special. The entire journey of acquiring something new is as important to me as the item itself.
