Those two met selling furniture on Craigslist, hit it off, and haven't looked back since, eventually opening Lichen in 2017 with the aim of selling furniture and fostering a creative community.

I can’t say there are any books, movies, or magazines that directly inspire my work. I do always have music on though. My playlist usually consists of Nas, The Internet, Blood Orange, and Chet Baker.

A lot of my inspirations do come from the African diaspora. But I am also as inspired by David Hockney and Aphex Twin as I am by The Baye Fall movement and Barkley L. Hendricks.

Doug: I'm learning FDM 3D printing and starting to incorporate that into my work. I'm working on some larger free-standing pieces, new lighted pieces, and sculptural vessels.

I was just fascinated by how creative I could be with cooking. There's a whole craft to it—something about that kept me interested in learning more and more about it.

For me, the best part of skateboarding is the time in between. It’s like that saying “It’s about the journey, not the destination.” You throw your board down, cruising through the sidewalks and streets.

I call social media and the internet as a whole, "The New Renaissance.”  Now we need a modern day Medici family to back these artists who have little to no resources.

Dress for yourself and your body. You don't have to suffer for fashion and wear something that doesn't keep you warm or overheats your body.

I am drawn to harsh but fluid motions of the sport which inspires me to recreate the the motions in the garments.
