I can’t say there are any books, movies, or magazines that directly inspire my work. I do always have music on though. My playlist usually consists of Nas, The Internet, Blood Orange, and Chet Baker.

A lot of my inspirations do come from the African diaspora. But I am also as inspired by David Hockney and Aphex Twin as I am by The Baye Fall movement and Barkley L. Hendricks.

Doug: I'm learning FDM 3D printing and starting to incorporate that into my work. I'm working on some larger free-standing pieces, new lighted pieces, and sculptural vessels.

I was just fascinated by how creative I could be with cooking. There's a whole craft to it—something about that kept me interested in learning more and more about it.
